About The Show

Star-play is a drone-loaded, sexually-charged, electro-brass-pop musical set within (and around) the seductive yet somewhat sinister world of show-business!
The famous theatre producer, Jaguar Hemmington, opens the show whilst questioning your reality in his theatre of dreams.
We follow the intertwining lives of four North London school friends, ten years on, as they chase their various dreams and live out their greatest fantasies.
Star-play is laced with ‘black-coats’ who take the role of management, audition panels, heads of labels etc. They have a matrix-esque look, a thirst for money, a dark vibe; their entourage of trustworthy drones are always close to hand.

Ultimately, the show is about friendship, with hope and perseverance playing key themes also. The script’s rhyming couplets keep the pace lively; 4th wall humour lightens the darker tones and an intriguing, heartfelt storyline cements engagement with the piece.
